Up and Down is Josiah Clancy's first officially released single. The upbeat bubblegum pop track features vocals that resemble a young girl singing, however the vocals were provided by Josiah Clancy himself!

This song was released November 11th, 2017 after Hurricane Harvey impacted Josiah and his family, flooding their home with about 6ft (1.8m) of water. The song was completed in a temporary camper home as its release was prioritized for a reason dear to Josiah.

The repeated lyrics, "Jumping up and down like a clown who will take away your frown when you're feeling down. Please don't feel so blue, I just want to be entertaining you, I'll make you feel like (jumping up and down)", is Josiah's message to focus on the positive and stay up, despite life's negative moments that could bring you down.

The second set of lyrics, "Jumping all around, lets make some loud sounds breaking down the ground, stomping all around. I believe in you because I love you just the way you are, when I first saw you (jumping all around; jumping up and down)", is a reminder to be yourself, be free, and accomplish your goals.
